Disappearing Guide Theory

Only a small percentage of total Humax+IceTV customers are experiencing the disappearing guide issue. So the question is 'what are these customers doing differently'.

We have one customer with 2 Humaxes. One Humax has never had the guide disappear and the other Humax experiences it once a week. Both Humaxes are using wired (Ethernet). Both are using software version 1.07.00.

The Humax that never has the guide disappear:
- Is turned off to standby every night.
- Has 'Power saving in standby' set to ON.

The Humax that has the guide disappear every week:
- Is left turned on 24/7.
- Has 'Power saving in standby' set to OFF.

Some known facts:

A. If 'Power saving in standby' is OFF you need to switch off and on at the rear power switch to recover the guide.

B. If 'Power saving in standby' is ON you only need to restart the Humax via the remote control to recover the guide.

C. Clearing the memory restores the guide after the next guide download.

Some assumptions:

D. If the Humax is left on 24/7 the guide will eventually become blank.

E. If 'Power saving in standby' is OFF the memory will NOT be cleared each time the Humax is turned off to standby.

F. If 'Power saving in standby' is ON the memory will be cleared each time the Humax is turned off to standby.

Therefore anyone who has 'Power saving in standby' set to the default ON setting AND turns their Humax off each night should never see the blank guide issue.

Good workaround but will there be a fix. Prefer not to have to have Power Save on just so the firmware doesn't need to be fixed. Thanks.

We definitely want a proper fix.

If my assumptions are correct it would seem that the cause is either a memory leak or memory allocation issue. And more importantly we can provide Humax with steps to reproduce the issue.
