Hi all,
I am new to topfield trf 2400 and icetv.
I have been able to set schedule recording via iPhone.

But how do I confirm on the PVR that it made it there?

P.s. does the PVR need to be on to schedule a recording.

Thank all.

Hi, yes the Topfield needs to be on to fetch the recording schedules from IceTV. It can take up to 15 minutes.

To check, on the Topfield itself, that your recordings have been scheduled go to the Guide and press the white option button. You can also get to the reservations list via the recordings menu.

If you do leave your Topfield on 24/7 you should reboot it once a week just to ensure that IceTV reservations continue to be reserved.

If you prefer to turn your Topfield off to standby when not in use, you can make it wakeup at a pre-set time each day for long enough to update itself from IceTV. The following guide shows how:

Or this guide if you have the old 7100 Topfield:

With the November 2011 firmware regularly putting the Toppy into standby was essential. With the February 2012 firmware (7100+ x2 and 2400 x 2) I found that EPG and Timer fetches worked while I was away (about 16 days) without putting the Toppy into standby. The old 7100HDPVRt also behaved well. I monitored timers both using iPad app and via internet from a notebook.
