Hi,
Beginner question if I may.
I have two Topfield devices. An old TF7000HDPVRt and new TRF-2400
the old one has no connectivity and needs its guide manually loaded via USB (which is one reason I upgraded)

Unfortunately they are installed in different locations - the old one in Melbourne where I work during the week and the new one at home in regional victoria.

I cant find an easy way of getting the manually loaded guide updated. At the moment I am loging in - going to my account and changing the region - quickly going and downloading the guide - then remember to go back to change the region back before the new one does its automatic refresh ( and scrambles everything if the region isn't right)

Any better way ?

Hi JC,
I have some good news for you, there is a simple way to handle your situation.

When you download the guide for the TF7000HDPVRt you use the following URL

http://www.icetv.com.au/cgi-bin/epg/iceguide.cgi?op=topguide&tapver=999999&save_as_file=checked&save_as_filename=icetv_epg.txt

there is a little known feature of our guide download system that allows you to create a feed with a custom channel list instead of using the region in your account.

You can add channels=x,y,z to the URL where x, y & z are the channel numbers.

For Melbourne the IDs are

2441,6,93,2405,90,9,36,2417,11,1697,91,2390,7,94,92,10,32,8

so to get the guide for Melbourne in the correct format you need to use the URL below

http://www.icetv.com.au/cgi-bin/epg/iceguide.cgi?op=topguide&tapver=999999&save_as_file=checked&save_as_filename=icetv_epg.txt&channels=2441,6,93,2405,90,9,36,2417,11,1697,91,2390,7,94,92,10,32,8

For future reference you can get a list of all the channels we have in our guide with the following URL

http://iceguide.icetv.com.au/cgi-bin/epg/iceguide.cgi?op=xmlguide&no_programs=1

The output will look like this (truncated for the sake or brevity)

<tv date='' source-info-url='http://www.icetv.com.au' source-info-name='IceTV Pty. Ltd.' generator-info-name='IceTV Pty. Ltd.' generator-info-url='http://www.icetv.com.au'>
   <ice-xml-version>2.1</ice-xml-version>
   <channel id='72'>
      <display-name>7mate</display-name>
      <region-name>ACT</region-name>
      <lcn>63</lcn>
      <lcn>73</lcn>
   </channel>
</tv>

In this case though if you are changing between Melbourne and VIC Regional, it would easier just to leave your region set to VIC Regional as the VIC Regional region does include all of the Melbourne channels as well.

excellent thanks.
Option 2 seems easier to try first  :)
It was getting into trouble when they were the other way around and now I can see why
