iPhone and iMac

Hey just a quick Newbie question.

I watch everything from my iMac using eye tv.

Just wanted to know if I started a recording from my iPhone when I'm out and about would it wake my computer from sleep to record?

Don't rely on EyeTV waking up the Mac to fetch guide data.  If you scour the Elgato forums you'll see all kinds of posts about how difficult it is getting EyeTV to wake up.

This isn't the fault of IceTV, by the way.  EyeTV behaves like that for any guide data source, pulling the data from the guide server.  Pushing data on-demand from the guide to the Mac isn't generally possible since you're typically behind NAT and a firewall, so EyeTV doesn't provide that option.

If your Mac is on 24/7 then periodic fetch works pretty well.  This might not be something you want to do with a desktop, but it's probably tolerable on something small like a Mac Mini.

Perhaps wakeup has been fixed now, but my machine is always on, so I can't vouch for it.
