That is the boring TED/S log.   Do you see 7TWO getting stuff set in TEDS?  Do you see anything in the Topfield EPG_upload log (assuming TED/S is actually creating timers).

Well, things are now much worse.  I deleted all the times and followed John's instructions

Manually delete all recording-type timers on the Toppy
Build the epg_timers.tsv file via the TAP's menu
Delete timers-2.ts on the PC
Re-run TED+.

The only thing that went wrong with that is that I couldn't find  timers-2.ted anywhere on my system.  (I know I found it previously when I did this)  I did see a timers-1.ted, but wasn't game to delete that.

So, I ran TED+ and nothing uploaded!  :'(

There are no timers set (in TEDS - there are now no timers at all on the Toppy) for 7TWO at all

I got
Nov 3, 17:33:19 : TED+ v7.10.1.512 started

and on the TPR Log, I got

There were no current Toppy Timers as at 5:40 pm - Tuesday, 3 November 2009

** Timer Processing Failure Report **

Then, the Toppy Timers Log lists all the timers were supposedly added and the usual clash report for clashed timers

With a list of all of the timers.  The clash report does mention some 7TWO programs

I am including (rather long) the epg_upload.log for the relevant period (sorry, I always have trouble figuring out what's relevant)

As I mentioned, the original "fail" was probably because I had too many timers.  It should have had a lot more than two deletes though.  I marked at least half a dozen shows on TEDS+ to be deleted, didn't happen.  There was a large number of timers uploaded, because it hasn't been uploading for days

Now I am back to manually setting timers until I figure this out  :'( :'(   This is what I was afraid of

I have no idea what I've done right - I decided to try again. got as far as going to build the epg_timers.tsv through the Toppy, hand't ran TED+ again yet, and as soon as EPG finished loading, the film reels appeared, and the timers uploaded.
I wish I knew what I did right!  ???
Thank you for the help, anyway

You should fix a few things while you are here.
1.  Get rid of those dummy channel entries in the beginning of the ini file (you will have to rearrange it a bit to either renumber them all, or whatever).
2.  You have this error:
2009/11/03 17:07:54-could not open GMT TZfile in /ProgramFiles/zoneinfo DIR
2009/11/03 17:07:55-could not open posixrules TZfile in /ProgramFiles/zoneinfo DIR

This is bad*.   You are using the latest version of my TAP by the sounds of it, which really needs these files in the zoneinfo directory to perform properly for any time related stuff.
They would have come with the EPG_uploader3.26beta6/3.27 (or whatever version you ended up with).

Remember, EPG_uploader, if you have timeshift disabled, will not upload new EPG (or timers) on a very regular basis (once every 12hours, or when the "reload hour" of the TAP is set).   It has two settings, a "new file frequency check timeshift enabled" and timeshift disabled.    You don't want it to check for new files every 2minutes when you have timeshift disabled, it defeats the purpose of having it disabled (which presumably is due to people thinking the discs spinning down is somehow going to increase the life of the PVR).   I don't run the PVR 24x7, and leave my timeshift on while on (i.e enabled) to give me 100% PVR functionality whenever I leave it on, and means uploading timers from EPG_uploader is relatively instantaneous (ok, can be up to 2mins wait).

edit 200: I do see it checking for files every 5mins though, so not really sure why it wasn't getting anything from TED, must be your TED settings I would think.

*(mind you, I see:
2009/11/03 17:07:55-Determining GMT offset and manual time is currently 0xd762 17:07:55
2009/11/03 17:07:55-Setting Flash UTCOffset to:660mins
2009/11/03 17:07:55-Setting Manual DATE to 0xd762 & TIME for emma2 & front panel time: 17:08
which means it is setting your manual time OK, I am a bit surprised about that really).

I won't answer this in full - haven't been to bed yet, so if I was going to change anything in the ini file now, I would probably stuff it up completely.  I am using 3.26beta6, btw.

I often record things overnight, so the Toppy is on probably 20 hours every day.  I have PBK set so that timeshift is enabled in peak viewing hours, (just checked - enabled between 2pm and 1am)

Now...

1.Bit scared of getting rid of the dummy entries (where did they come from?)  What do I do, just delete them and re-number the rest?  And do I leave them in the order they are in, or can I re-sort them while I'm at it?
2.  What do I do about correcting this?  If it has something to do with TED settings, no idea what to do about it.  John is too busy lately to offer any support

They just got there because if the TAP doesn't have any channels in the inifile, it adds 5 dummy ones for you to edit (hangover from the first days of the TAP, and just the way John provides an inifile for you that doesn't have any entries for channels).  But because they don't correlate with anything, the TAP gives all those "can't find channel" errors, which doesn't help at all and slows it down.   Just like you originally added 72 to the tap, you can delete those, but I think last time I tried, the channel info in the TAP has to start from the number 1 (so you could move 11,12,13,14,15 there and remove the 1st 1, but then you have that hole to fill near the end, so will require renumbering some), and the number of channels entry needs to be reduced to the number the number of channels listed or else it will create dummy ones at the end this time.

As for TED/S, this has nothing to do with the PC.  Read the errors again, they are from the TAP:
2009/11/03 17:07:54-could not open GMT TZfile in /ProgramFiles/zoneinfo DIR
2009/11/03 17:07:55-could not open posixrules TZfile in /ProgramFiles/zoneinfo DIR
It is the zoneinfo files related to TAP timezone setting and getting your date/time changed.   You are meant to have a zoneinfo directory off the Topfield ProgramFiles directory with those zoneinfo files that came with the TAP in there.   You can see it is complaining about two missing files, I suggest you copy the ones it is complaining about into that directory.

Things are progressively getting worse. :'(  I just sent John a bug report, praying that he will answer.  TED ran today, I actually thought it was fine.  It uploaded some timers (I know this, because there are now some timers there for next Tuesday)  I noticed a few anomalies, (nothing to do with the workings of the TAP) so opened TEDS to make some adjustments.  I discovered that there are hardly any timers shown in TEDS.  All the timers set don't have an icon next to them except for a very few.  For instance, there is ONE timer shown for today, whereas there are actually 7.  I can't figure out the difference in the ones still showing.  The only icons still present are the ones I created to exclude a recording

I am now completely lost, no idea what to check where. :'(  I haven't touched the epg_upload.ini yet, which is just as well, I would have blamed that.

BTW, the timers.log is a complete mess, I can't make sense out of what clashes with what and why.  I think there are too many channels now, too many shows clashing   ;D

I can't give you TED/S support as I haven't used it in a couple of years (maybe more?).   I have been using PerlTGD on my SLUG  since that time, and much better option (not tied to a PC, not tied to some VDS closed source code that gives cryptic error messages about "error 23 in line 2002" or whatever they are).   John has done an admirable job in TED/S, no doubt, but I think the PerlTGD solution is a lot better for me.    Gully still posts on the Beyonwiz forums if you want to PM him about it (he seemed to know what all the VDS errors were about, perhaps John gave him some support arrangements/info in the past).
I just don't think you are going to get many people who use/can support TED/S here on the ICE forums.

I do realise I can't expect help for TED/S here.  For the original post, I thought it may be sort of Ice connected.  Now, I just wrote in case someone was interested in what's happening, and (I suppose) for a whinge.  From what I understand PerlTGD is not for people like me (no programming knowledge) so I am stuck with TED/S

I do appreciate all the help you did give
