iceTV is pleased to announce a new ice update is available for the Topfield TF5000PVRt, this update applies to all Topfield TF5000PVRt models.

This update inludes improvements to the Ice configuration menus making them much faster nad more appealing than previous menus.

Also included are bug fixes that overcome changes in the latest Topfield firmware for Masterpiece dated 5th October 2005. This will however mean that when the Topfield is turned on from standby no guide data will be seen until the Topfield has been powered up for 1 minute.

Timer padding functionality has been improved for better support of repeating timers.

iceTV subscribers will see a popup on the TV inviting them to install the new software after their next guide update. Once installed a reboot of the Topfield will activate the new software.

To check to see if this new TAP has been installed open the iceguide TAP menu by pressing the Exit button on the remote control while watching live TV. The title of the menu will include the version number. This new version is 200511111435

Daniel..... The new tap is great..............., but having to wait a full minute for the EPG to load is 'just' acceptable.

I loaded up the new TAP tonight, my wife turns on the toppy and she queries me, 'what's wrong with the pvr? I can't see what's on'.

I replied, I didn't know, I checked the announcement for the TAP and found the answer.

Any plans on increasing the speed of the EPG load on startup? Would love to have it back to normal!

Cheers.

I have experienced what may be two bugs in the latest update:
1. When the toppy is turned on, it continues to display the time not the program number as before.
2. When I make timer settings for two program in a row on the same channel more than one day in advance, only the second program is recorded.

Any adivice.

thank you

Hi Daniel, question regarding the TAP (I use TEDS-ICE and so have never tried the TAP) - does it replace the Toppy's "Guide".

the reason I ask is that I have seen this snazzy looking guide on the ICE website and wondered what it was from?
