Getting Help / Re: Icebox Buzzing Noise
January 23, 2024, 08:20:15 AM
Hi Martin,

The IceBox electronics should be silent, and the built-in fan should be virtually imperceptible too unless the shelf/cupboard it is sitting on is working like some sort of sound box. I can't hear either of mine unless the room is silent and I lean over them.

Is the buzzing 50Hz as I suspect which could be a power supply issue but try plugging it in elsewhere to check any earthing loops etc.

Monitoring the CPU temperature via "Systems Information" > "Hardware" - Both my CPUs are 51 degC right now with no recordings or replay.  It increases to approx 61 degC when running a replay and 69 degC when initially running a recording and reply simultaneously but that dropped back to 61 degC. Running a replay and four recordings I got mine to 70 degC too.  So I'd suggest your is quite normal - we've all had hot knees when using our laptops!!

Getting Help / Re: Using a keyboard
January 21, 2024, 11:25:38 AM
Hi Russell,

We'll send you a new remote as maybe yours is faulty and we are in discussions with the manufacturer regarding faults we have had with others.  Could you send the faulty one back - just lodge a support ticket and I'll liaise with you that way.

Regarding the Keyboard that model is bluetooth and I can't say whether it will work except to suggest going to Settings - LibreELEC - Bluetooth and seeing if it is recognised.  I use a Logitech keyboard but a wireless one.

Hi ozstubbsy,

You could go to our store IceBox BYOB page and download our latest software to a clean USB stick and either reboot it. Y pulling its power pin with the USB I place, or using a keyboard go into BIOS and force a reboot and reload that way.

Deletion is easy via the remote menu button, second down from top on the right. No need to scroll down, go up and it pops to the bottom delete choices.

The IceBox does have a fan.  It is easily accessed by removing the four screws on the base and opening it up.  Maybe it's picked up a piece of dust?

Hi Denny09,

We know the problem but simply don't have the day's spare development time it would take to fix right now.

I ask that you hang on until after Christmas when we'll try to quarantine day to sort it.

My apologies but as a tiny company we can't get to it any sooner.

Hi Adrian,

We really appreciate your QA/AC for our Gold Coast guide but I am concerned that you have no other life? Are some of these obscure corrections really important to you? If you look at our most popular list they often are so far down as to irrelevant to other users.

Beyonwiz / Re: Beyonwiz U4 EPG completely blank
December 25, 2023, 03:44:07 PM
Merry Christmas.

Try running the IceTV setup wizard. The Beyonwiz is connecting correctly and the account is up to date so there is no reason except for a Beyonwiz glitch for it to not be working properly.

Getting Help / Re: New firmware update
December 19, 2023, 01:22:42 PM
Simply copy the file to the IceBox "Updates" folder "as is" from the download.  If using wifi that copy will take a couple of minutes for so.  Then reboot.

We always advise that PVRs are left on as sleep has always caused reliability issues. The power consumption in its idle non-recording state is negligible.

Getting Help / Re: New IceBox - DOA?
December 12, 2023, 09:48:15 AM
Hi Mike,

Daniel will call after 10. He's the technical expert so should be able to drill down to find out what is going on (or what's not!).
