General Discussions / Re: Prioritize Shows

I don't think you need to rate them all from 1 to 100, my preference would be to order them, like I did on my old toppy 5k- epg tap (can't remember the TAPs name). Initially the order (or rank) is created as the timers are created. Then you move the timers up or down the list to 'rank' them as you want. From experience with the toppy, most recordings don't conflict, however when they do, you have a pre-arranged preference for your tuners.

Sounds like Jags EPG.  That's what I used to use, and I found it pretty good.

IceTV EPG Content / Re: One HD constantly incorrect

+1 here.

Disappointed to already have accidentally found out the F1 qualifying result before it's aired because I checked the One HD site to see what's going on.

I think its probably 1HD are swapping about at the last minute, which makes life hard for those of us that use clocks rather than stay glued 24/7.

1HD tend to do that a bit.  I've been caught out before this year.

IceTV EPG Content / Re: Eleven or 12?

"11" shows up as LCN 12 on my Win7 MC also.  Seems to work out ok - epg corresponds to what's actually on the channel.  Futurama gets recorded, so all is well.  :-)

MCE is a bit annoying in that if you have two consecutive programs on the same channel, it ties up two tuners during the overlap caused by padding.  I have four tuners also, and at times they're all maxed out simply because microsoft can't think through that one a bit better and use one tuner during the overlap.

Soft padding is a disaster, as TV stations never start/finish on time.  I always use a hard pad.

I use MCE to set the timers, and just use IceTV for EPG.  That works well for me.  I'm pretty happy.  Come to think of it, I don't that IceTV supported a hard pad at the time I started out, so that's why I used the MCE to set the timers.  I don't know if IceTV has added the hard pad feature since.

Spoke too soon.  They're back now, working OK.

I'll put in a "me too" for recordings scheduled using Win7 timers.

Yep, I kind of recall the 90 minutes too.  Really wierd thing is I looked at the guide on the IceTV web site, and some time, late in piece I think, it did get changed to a 120 minute slot, 930 - 1130.  Dunno why my Win7 MC didn't update the timer: either Win7 fault (quite plausible), or the EPG that my PC downloaded wasn't updated (also plausible).

There does seme to be a few people here that had issue with this particular show.

As said, can't go back to the PC and go back in time to look at the EPG, as it doesn't let you see its old data.

There was something weird about this.  Of course I can't go back to check, but I saw the fact that it will be two episodes and I thought the timer was amended, but it wasn't for 2 hours (90 minutes, from memory) so I presumed that the two eps combined made it shorter.  With the 15 minutes padding I have on all shows, I still missed the last 15 minutes or so.

Hmmm, surprisingly short lived series.

Hi,

I've just noted that channel seven, in adealide, are still simulcasting their prime digital channel (i.e. #71) on channel 70.  I thought that seven-mate was going over to the HD.

Seven's own web page (http://au.tv.yahoo.com/) is a bit of a dog's breakfast, so I gave up on that.  Anyone know what the official line is regarding seven's HD channel?

Cheers,

Maybe try from the main menu: Settings, Guide, Edit Channels; select the channel; then select Edit Listings.  Should be an inband enable there.  Hope that's what you're after.

IceTV EPG Content / Commonwealth Games
October 01, 2010, 08:02:31 AM
Hi,

Are the commonwealth games really being broadcast on all three of the Ten channels (ten, one, one-hd)?  I thought that there was some stupid rule whereby they were only allowed to simulcast on two channels, hence the stupid music previously being played on one-sd when ten and one-hd were broadcasting a sporting event at the same time.

As a followup to my previous message.
This change has completely screwed up my recordings.
MY Vista box did not record a movie last night that was scheduled to be recorded.
Covert Affairs is now not scheduled to be recorded either.
It was also recording CH7 (7mate) from 12:00 midday today until I stopped it at 18:00, it was going to record until midnight.

My BW machine is not as badly screwed up.

As the old saying goes
Not happy Jan :'(

Yep, my 7MC is also pretty messed up.  I use the Media Centre to set the timers, and just use IceTV for the guide data.  Its gone and made quite a mess, generally by deleting timers.

I'm googling about to try to see how to clear and then re-scan my timers list.  No luck so far.

IceTV EPG Content / Seven's EPG Data
September 17, 2010, 07:54:00 PM
Hi,

Anyone finding that the channel seven EPG data is a bit off (Adelaide)?

E.g. my 7-mate (the HD channel) says home and away is on (7-7:30 Friday), whereas really the footy is screening right now.

I looked at my account, and now have 921 days of subscription remaining, so think that the offer is legit.  It just seems that it throws two of them in your cart when you're not expecting it, so catches you out.

Argh crap!!!!

Got stung by this too.  Ah well, I guess that I won't be needing to buy IceTV subscriptions for a long time now.
