XMLTV (General) / Missing Channels in xmltv file
September 06, 2009, 10:32:43 AM
I've been downloading the straight xml file for use, however recently I've only been getting  listings for 12 channels instead of all that I used to. I'm using the Wollongong Feed

The channels I'm getting are

ABC HDTV
ABC One
ABC Two
SBS ONE
SBS HD
Prime Southern
Prime Southern HD
Southern Cross 10
One Digital
Win Television NSW
Win Television NSW HD
GO!

So there are quite a few channels that I used to get that are missing (ie Nine, Seven, Ten, One HD, SBS Two, ABC 3)

Unfortunately I am currently without internet access and will be for another 5 weeks. This means I'm unable to update my guide through the obvious means.

However, I've had some success using a cable connection to my mobile and connecting through the GSM network to the internet. This has allowed me to use the IceTV interactive software (2.0.0.16 as 17 was locking up) to test my settings and receiving a success message.

However, when I go to update my guide data it does not appear to work correctly and gives me an error along the lines of 'File.IO cannot read beyond the end of stream' or something along those lines. Unfortunately I can't remember the exact wording, and can't post at the time of testing (due to speed/data costs).

Things like padding and the channel list appear to work ok. The issue seems to purely be the guide update, and after two attempts I get locked out due to me hitting the server too often.

Has anyone tried this before and had it working?

edit: Hopefully you can disregard. I now have a pre-paid dial up card and will try using my phone and dial-up networking to see if that works.

General Discussions / Movie: prefix
November 22, 2007, 01:52:42 PM
Does the Movie: prefix serve any purpose?

Personally, I'm not a fan of it. I use Vista Media Centre and it messes up both my Recorded TV and DVD Gallery page.

Is it required for any reason, or just a 'feature'?
