There's a 1300 number shown on the Android APP, also used to be on the ICE website but one of the "Contact Us" links where I think it used to be is broken now and it doesn't seem to appear anywhere there.

When you call the 1300 number you hear a message advising that "ICE TV does not provide phone support as a first point of contact".  I use to be able to call and report issues - like - why is it that neither of my Topfield recorders can contact the ICE server all of a sudden? But now I have to fill out a form and wait for someone to deal with it.

If, as it seems,  there has  been a change in support arrangements, then I wonder why it is that I cannot find any communication from ICE advising me of this? Just removing the link on the website to the number really isn't good enough.

If, like me, you discovered today that your 7100+ recorder(s) reboot every 30 seconds and do not respond correctly always to the remote, it seems to be caused by an issue with ICE as the problem goes away if ICE is disabled. Nobody answered the phone at ICE tech support so I don't know whether or not the issue has already been reported.

Recently I asked the Android APP to record all episodes of "Breaking Bad" after the series had completed when there were no live episodes to select. In the process I created a keyword search. Now I find all sorts of stuff being set up to record based, presumably, on the fact that one of the keywords appears somewhere. Episodes of basketball, "Cops" etc etc.

How do I limit the keyword search to the title of the show I want?

I called the 1300 number to ask and was told to leave a message and I would be called back. Several days have passed and no call has happened.

When I opened the app for the first time for a few days this morning I saw a message to the effect that the guide had only a day's data in it and more data was being downloaded in the background. It is good that you don't have to wait.

So I opened the guide and the first items of data were for last night followed by the rest of today. I selected an item after scrolling through until this evening, looked at it and then hit the the back button. I was taken back to the point in the guide corresponding to the start of the earliest show currently being telecast (NASCAR), rather than the point in the guide where I had made the selection. So I had to scroll through all the guide again to get back to where I had been. this happened every time I looked at any show details.

When I did the same thing for tomorrow, and subsequent days, I was taken back to the point in the guide where I had been.

I think that the current day's behaviour in this respect should be the same as all the future days.

I am also intrigued by the fact that when I started the app the first time and got the download message the guide started at 11.20pm last night. If I restart the app now the guide starts at the current time (approx).

The current series of STS episodes being shown on ABC2 are Series 3. They are not repeats. Please adjust your EPG entries that show them as repeats, else those of us who have set recordings to catch only first runs will not get them.

Topfield / Emailing Offers

I read on the Topfield forum that a special $49 offer was available on 21 Sept. Apparently an email was sent out advising of this. I didn't get one. And yes, I have checked my junk/held mail. this is not the first time I have failed to get emails that others have received and I have complained about it here before.

Based on this past experience I am probably not the only one to miss getting the email. Can the matter please be resolved this time?

Topfield / All todays reservations set to radio

My ICE reservations for today and tomorrow are set to radio type rather than TV. The program names are corrct and the red icons have been set in the EPG. It's just that the thing is recording radio. Is this set by ICE or somewhere in the topfield (7100+)?

Looking at the guide. Select any day in advance. Rotate screen from landscape to portrait (or vice versa) and the guide reverts to now. Rotate back to landscape and guide remains at now and won't be changed to a future day even though the future day shows in box at bottom. Similar thing happens in "My Week". Presumably this is a SGII only issue as testing would have discovered it if it occurred generally.

Currently the interactive guide, My Shows and My Week all display only the reservations or shows relevant to the device currently selected by the user. It would be nice for us oldies if there could be a way to show the reservations etc for all devices on the one screen, (as well as the current arrangement for those who prefer that.)

Topfield / Device Label reverts to first device in error

The November firmware introduced a new function to reset EPG data (red button on Icelink setup page).  If you have multiple devices (and therefore device names) and try to reset the EPG data the device name will, illogically, revert to your first device. If you don't notice this and use the reset EPF function on second and subsequent devices you will then get reservations for your first device on them, and you won't get the correct reservations for that device.

Brother in law reported this on the Topfield forum but there is no evidence there that the issue was seen as important enough to refer back to Topfield. As there is a line of communication between ICE and Korea perhaps the error could be referred back that way.

IceTV EPG Content / ABC Current Affairs

The descriptions that appear on my PVR as "info" when I highlight one of a series of ABC current affairs shows in the ICE EPG are generic. Examples for tonight are Australian Story, 4 Corners and Q&A. In order to find out what the topics of each of these shows is I have to switch to the FTA EPG where details of the specific shows are available. I wonder why the ICE EPG cannot also contain this information.

IceTV EPG Content / The Bill - is it now HD?

Apparently the episode from last Saturday (5th Sep) was recorded and telecast in the UK in HD. It and subsequent episodes were not shown by ICE as HD - don't know whether it is being telecast here in HD or not. How does one find out? - the ABC on line TV guide doesn't help.

Topfield / Is pre-padding possible?

I am finding that some scheduled recordings begin a few seconds after the show has started - especially on ABC2. Perhaps it is because the show starts on time and the TF takes some time to get going or perhaps it is because the show starts early - can't tell. I have the time set automatically so theoretically it should be in synch with the network timing.

I know that I could manually edit each timer to make it start earlier but if I'm going to do that I lose some of the benefit of the Interactive feature. The TF won't let me add pre-padding like it does with post-padding  - at least with current firmware - so I wonder whether it could be something that ICE could implement?

The current interactive guide currently breaks up the day into 4 period subsets with two additional options (now and the rest of the day). I would like to suggest that an additional selectable option be added to display the whole day (12.00 am to 12.00 pm) in one listing and to retain this as the default - at least during the current session. When searching through the guide over several days it is tiresome to have to keep going back and selecting the period required - 4 times for each day.

Lots of links to it in here but I can't get the TF forum to work - anyone else have a problem or is it me?
