Humax / 7500T has a rest again
September 26, 2015, 05:44:45 PM
Seems a bit quiet here lately - have users given up on their Humax? Or are they all working well?

I just had a repetition of a weird problem. There was a power outage and the Humax didn't come back on. Wouldn't restart, or boot up at all. The unit was still warm, so power supply was working, but no sign of any other life, no response to any buttons.

I had the same thing happen before, so I dragged out my old Toppy and fired it up. After 24 hours I tried the Humax again, and Lo!! It came up as normal and everything is OK, just like it was saying "is there a problem??"

Very strange! Has anyone else had that trouble? Or is it one of those problems which seem to be exclusive to me?

Cheers

General Discussions / Humax support
January 11, 2014, 05:15:49 PM
Anyone know if Humax support are on deck yet? My 7500 failed (this is the second one to fail in just over 12 months - not too promising) and IceTV support are still waiting for a response re warranty issues.

My old Toppy lasted a lot longer, I have dragged it out of retirement and it's still working (sort of).

I have been quite disappointed with Humax - they seem to be unreliable and buggy.

Do Beyonwiz units have similar problems? (Just in case I decide to dump the Humax)

Thanks

Humax / Updating new digital channels
June 28, 2013, 05:45:43 PM
If you are in Brisbane and update your new digital channel allocations on the Humax with autosearch, don't forget to check and reset your series recordings if necessary!

Caught me out!

Josh Thomas's new six part series starts next Thursday on ABC2 at 9.30pm - not shown in New Shows and listed in the guide as United Kingdom?

Humax / Humax can't handle recording of successive shows.
February 07, 2013, 07:40:29 PM
I know this has been covered before, but I could see no solution. I am a fairly new user - I am wondering if it has been resolved or if there is any solution in sight??

I set two series of shows on the same channel to be recorded from IceTV website - last night I wanted Bargain Hunt (6.30 - 7.30) on 7Two and Heartbeat (7.30 - 8.40) on 7Two.

The first show was recorded with my end padding (20 mins) added, so it finished recording at 7.50. After a short gap the second recording started and finished at exactly 8.40. So the second recording ignored the padding completely.

The result was that I had to watch the start of Heartbeat on the end of Bargain Hunt, then switch over to the second recording, and of course I missed the end of Heartbeat as the broadcast finished late.

Will I have to live with this stupid problem? I could just handle watching a show on two separate files, but why does the padding vanish so I miss the end?  It would be better to manually program these conflicts.

I really like the ease of setting up series recording from the IceTV website, but it loses some of its appeal when you have to check everything to make sure there's no overlap.

Humax / Notification of failed timer emails
December 29, 2012, 08:11:45 AM
I recently ticked the box to receive emails for failed recordings, and received two notifications. Both times the recordings seemed to be perfectly OK.

I am wondering if the ICETV email system assumes a recording failure if the Humax doesn't send a "recording complete" signal, or whether the Humax needs to send "recording failed" signal before the system sends the email.

For various reasons my wifi connection is not working at all times, and there may be no connection at the actual time of the recording. If the first option is the case I'll have to untick the box.

Thanks for any comments.
