I see from the Federeal Court website that a decision was handed down on Nine vs IceTV http://esearch.fedcourt.gov.au/Esearch?p=further_details&det=coa_listings&mat_id=3525133

What was the outcome?

Has it been published?

Thanks,

Here are some of my favourite cartoons, selected by myself based on how much it made me laugh, from hundreds submitted in our "2 for one" offer campaign last month.

Vote for your favourite!  The winner will get...  satisfaction and pride.

Thanks everyone for your superb effort!

Windows Media Center / Channels disappearing
July 24, 2006, 11:48:39 AM
Dear MCE experts,

We at Ice get occasional queries about channels disappearing or missing on initial scan. Examples:

"For the last three days my media center doesn't display channel 9 in either SD or HD in the EPG.  When I check the channels in the setup, both Channel 9's are listed but there is no frequency shown."

"Before installing IceTV, when I performed a channel scan in MCE I retrieved 45 services. After installing Ice TV there was only 15 services."

We have been unable to reproduce this problem so are hoping some of our esteemed users can shed some light?

We do get data directly from SBS and ABC but it's not a nice clean xml feed and requires quite a bit of "massaging". I'l lget back to you when I've found out what happened to B1 and B2 today.

We are considering changing the program titles of motor sports events.  They have prevsiously been listed as SPORT: MOTORSPORT with more details in the episode field.  The proposal is to add more detail to the title as well e.g.

Motor Sport: V8 SuperCars
Motor Sport: TrackSide
Motor Sport: World Rally Champion Ship
Motor Sport: A1 Grand Prix
Motor Sport: F1 Grand Prix
Motor Sport: ChampCars

Topfield / FREE BONUS FOR TEDS-ICE USERS
September 05, 2005, 11:05:47 AM
FREE BONUS FOR TEDS-ICE USERS

TEDS-ICE is a third-party TAP (not developed by IceTV) which runs on a
PC and adds "season pass" and other great functionality to your Topfield
PVR.  It can be purchased for $20 from http://teds.trappett.com. This
site also explains TEDS in detail.

Until the end of October IceTV is offering free 90 day extension of any
Ice subscription to registered TEDS-ICE users.  To get this $39 free
gift, just email support@icetv.com.au stating the purchase date of
TEDS-ICE and your Ice user ID, and within 48 hours your IceTV
subscription will be extended by 90 days.

Some benefits of TEDS-ICE:

* Timers can be set individually or by the Favourites function which use searching by keywords and filters

* searches can be performed on the title or the title and description.

* timers can have padding automatically applied to cater for the broadcasters' scheduling 'sloppiness'.

* The Timers currently set on the Toppy can be viewed and deleted.

Sounds strange I know, but some poeple have asked how to uninstall IceGuide from the MCE system.

Topfield / Topfield and the Mac
June 04, 2005, 01:19:56 PM
To make the loading less complex our latest software uses a simple text format for the guide files rather than XML (of course XM is still available).

If there are any mac developers out there interested in writing a Topfield Ice loader, we'd be pleased to supply the file format information, server commands etc to facilitate this.

Topfield / Tofield Loader Version 2 available now
May 23, 2005, 06:43:12 PM
We have now released a much improved version (V 2.0) of the iceGuide for Topfield software which includes:
     * Automatic padding to recording times (set the extra time for recordings in the Topfield's ice menu)
     * Easy channel - to - guide mapping
     * Automatic scheduling of iceguide fetches and uploads
     * Significantly increased guide loading speed that does not degrade remote control responsiveness
     * Automatic notification of new Topfield Application Program (TAP) (you choose whether to install them or not)

Our V2.0 software package installs a new PC loader and the loader in turn gets the latest TAP from our server and installs it on the Toppy.

This software will only work with Topfield's May 10 2005 (or later) firmware (now available from the IceTV website, click on Tech Support, then HowTo's).

Complete howto document is at http://www.icetv.com.au/ts_howto.php

I'd be pleased to hear your evaluation of this new software via this forum.

Topfield / New Topfield loader and TAP release
March 30, 2005, 05:42:38 PM
A new Topfield loader release and corresponding .tap has been posted at http://www.icetv.com.au/ts_howto.php

Main improvement is that multiple .ini files are supported to provide easy selection of region.

There was also a problem with daylight saving adjustments which could result in guide times being out by an hour in the old release.

Any feedback appreciated.
