The Suspect, 'Series 1, Episode 1', ABC TV HD, 11:05pm, Sun, 7 Apr
and its simulcast on ABC TV is marked as a repeat. The episodes S1E2-S1E5 that follow directly after it are correctly (I think) marked as first run.

Strangely, the ABC Web EPG shows all 5 episodes as repeats (on both channels).

Sorry I didn't raise this earlier, I only just noticed it.

EDIT: ACT IceTV region

IceTV EPG Content / The Blacklist - surely a repeat?
March 05, 2024, 10:08:33 AM
The Blacklist 'The Whaler' 7flix on Prime, 11:30pm, Sun, 10 Mar

This is S10E2 of The Blacklist, but AFAIK, all episodes of The Blacklist have been shown on Australian FTA, so surely this is a repeat.

In  case the IceFolk haven't already noticed, the certificate for *.icetv.com.au expired yesterday (2 Mar 2024).

Whitstable Pearl, 'The Offer' 9Gem, 9:40pm, Mon, 4 Mar

Is marked as a repeat. I don't think it is.

For some reason, Prime7 Canberra is showing some sort of Australian surveillance cameras show, followed by Border Security International, in The Chase's normal timeslot (today, 12 Feb, 15:00-16:00).

The error doesn't seen to be IceTV's. yourtv.com.au is also showing The Chase in that timeslot.

No idea what they might do tomorrow.

This week in the ACT IceGuide, S3E15, S3E17 & S3E19 of Chicago P.D. are marked as repeats, but S3E16 (2:30am, Tue, 13 Feb) & S3E18 (3:00am, Sat, 17 Feb) are marked as first run.

Surely they're all either first run or repeats, and since IMDb shows S3 of Chicago P.D. being released in 2015/2016, it seems "all repeats" is more likely.

IceTV EPG Content / Ocean Wreck Investigation - repeat?
February 03, 2024, 10:05:25 AM
Ocean Wreck Investigation, 'Assassins Of The Deep', SBS VICELAND HD, 6:40pm, Sun, 4 Feb

Is marked as first run, but I'm pretty certain that it's a repeat: we already had a series recording set for it, this episode is S1E1, and I remember seeing it, particularly the part about U480 "the world's first stealth sub".

Also, SBS has (now, at least) marked the episode as a repeat.

IceTV EPG Content / Wimbledon’s not on yet
January 28, 2024, 07:35:43 PM
It's probably too late now but 7bravo is actually showing MOVIE: Wimbledon at 20:30, not what's in the ACT IceGuide, Tennis: Wimbledon, because it's still winter in the UK, and Wimbledon isn't on yet.

IceTV EPG Content / Blacklist repeat?
January 25, 2024, 11:29:39 AM
The Blacklist, 'The Skinner, Conclusion', 7flix on Prime, 11:30pm, Mon, 29 Jan (S9E2)

Surely this is a repeat, since the last ever Blacklist has already screened in Australia.

IceTV EPG Content / Under the Dome - surely a repeat?
January 19, 2024, 09:49:58 AM
Under The Dome 'Caged' S3E6 9Go!, 12:15am, Tue, 23 Jan

Is marked as first run. Surely it's a repeat?

The Promise 'Movie: The Promise' SBS World Movies, 8:30pm, Sat, 16 Dec
... is marked as a series, but, as the "episode name" suggests, it's an unrelated movie.

I've had a queued series recording set for it by the old series recording we created for the original series.

I'm not sure whether this can be easily fixed without messing up people who've inadvertently set a new series recording when they tried to set a recording for the movie. At least it hasn't yet appeared in Ice Picks (if it ever was going to).

These seem very likely to be repeats:
The Blacklist 'The Wellstone Agency', 7flix on Prime, 11:30pm, Sun, 26 Nov
The Blacklist 'Chemical Mary', 7flix on Prime, 12:30am, Mon, 27 Nov
but they're flagged as first run.

The Night Logan Woke Up, Series 1, Episode 5, SBS HD, 23:00 Wed, 15 Nov 2023
"To everyone's surprise, Julien finally shows up to reveal the truth about what happened the night Laurier Gaudreault woke up."

The character who is called Laurier Gaudreault in the French soundtrack of the series is called Logan Goodyear in the English subtitles. The original name of the series is La nuit où Laurier Gaudreault s'est réveillé - The Night Laurier Gaudreault Woke Up, but for whatever reason, Laurier is given a different name in the English subtitles. It makes the synopsis confusing because Logan/Laurier is a central figure in the series.

I know that the synopsis comes from SBS.

IceTV EPG Content / "Satyrical" Betoota Advocate
October 23, 2023, 04:02:24 PM
The Betoota Advocate Presents synopsis says "There's news, fake news, and satyrical news. The Betoota Advocate falls squarely in the last category."

Satyrical? Not from what I saw in the first episode! Satirical, sure, but this?

IceTV EPG Content / Whitstable Pearl - Repeat?
September 27, 2023, 04:54:27 PM
Whitstable Pearl 'Random Acts' S1E2 9Gem, 22:40 Mon 2 Oct is marked as first run, but I'm pretty sure that all of Whitstable Pearl S1 has already been shown on FTA already.

I've put this in the Beyonwiz section because I've only observed it on Beyonwiz, but it may be a more generic problem with the "new" IceTV protocol.

In my Beyonwiz test setup, I have no access to a proper antenna connection, so fairly often when I do a service scan, the scan fails on some transponders/frequencies. When the scan completes, the service scan information is sent back to IceTV. The scan information sent back doesn't include all the services that are available for the region, so IceTV disables the missing services in the My Account>Guide Settings list, and that applies to all my IceTV devices, not just the one that had the scan problem. Given the fact that there's a single services list for all devices, while this is inconvenient, it's probably not a bug.

However, when this happens, any timers for series recordings are now failed on the IceTV side with the error "No valid service mapping for channel_id xx". This is also inconvenient, but not really a bug.

The bug is that when that happens, the IceTV code that tries to find an alternative time to record the same program is brought into action, and alternative timers are set, where possible, for the failed timers, even though the alternative recordings are on the same service that had generated the "No valid service mapping" in the first place.

This creates a mess where recordings aren't made at their usual times, and the only way I've been able to recover back to the timers being for their normal times is to delete and then re-create all the affected series recordings.

If a recording fails because of a "No valid service mapping" error, the IceTV scheduler should not try to create an alternative timer on the same service, or on any other service that has no valid service mapping.

IceTV EPG Content / Grimm, Saturday 9Go! is a repeat
September 12, 2023, 09:55:22 AM
Grimm 'Let Down Your Hair' S1E7 9Go! 00:10 Sat 16 Sep is marked as first run, but it's a repeat. The episode on Sun 17 Sep 01:30, Grimm 'Game Ogre' S1E8 is correctly marked as a repeat.

IceTV EPG Content / Just what is Unseen on SBS?
September 11, 2023, 12:27:45 PM
Both the SBS and IceTV guide information for Unseen (SBS ONE/SBS ONE HD, 23:05 Sat 15 Sep) seem to be rather different from what IMDb says about what the series.

The cast seems to match between IMDb and IceTV, the location for the action (Creux in Belguim) and the images used similarly, but the descriptions of the series seem very different:

IceTV & SBS (first episode and series description): Victor, a renowned ophthalmologist, becomes mysteriously blind after a cataract procedure. The operation was carried out by his daughter, Laurence, an eye surgeon. On top of the guilt, Laurence faces accusations of malpractice from her peers.

IMDb (series description): It tells the story of people and their families face a mysterious phenomenon: some of them become invisible. Out of sight, the invisibles can do anything without being seen.

IMDb (first episode description): The small Belgian town of Creux is hit by strange events. People seem to be slowly becoming invisible under mysterious circumstances and are now walking among the locals.

However, the image on IMDb (a cropped version of which is used in the IceTV What's On and Recommended) appears to suggest a cataract operation (or other eye surgery).

The problem (if there is one, and it's not just concentrating on very different aspects of the story) seems to have come from the description from SBS.

This is the IMDb entry I've been looking at: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt13505052/?ref_=fn_tt_tt_3
I had a browse through the other series on IMDb with the title "Unseen", and I can't faind anything matching the SBS description, and there doesn't seem to me any other "Unseen" featuring Myriem Akheddiou. The series details for "Unseen" on theTVDB.com also seem to agree with the details on IMDb: https://thetvdb.com/series/invisible-2020.

IceTV EPG Content / The wrong Kin
September 04, 2023, 10:03:33 AM
The IceGuide (ACT) shows the movie Kin on SBS/SBS HD at 21:20 on Thurs Sep 7 (even though the time slot is 55 min, and the movie of that name is 102 min long), but the SBS guide shows that it's S1E7 of the series Kin (episode number from IMDb).

Because it's been misclassified as the movie, series recordings of Kin won't record this episode.

IceTV EPG Content / No What's On This Week email?
June 26, 2023, 09:54:01 AM
I didn't get the usual IceTV What's On This Week email overnight, and there are no Recommended shows for the coming week in my iPhone IceTV app.

ACT region.
