Getting Help / Re: Pre/Post Padding of recordings.
April 15, 2024, 12:59:57 PM
The post and pre padding has to be set in TVHeadend www server. You access via your web browser of choice:
http://{IPAdress of IceBox}:9981/

You the select Configuration > Recording, and change the pre and post padding in the dialogue box, then save using the save "button" in the menu - on far left.

The two setting you tried on the IceBox pick up the amounts of pre and post padding from the TVHeadend setting at this time when the installation wizard runs. They are not changed to reflect subsequent changes mad by the TVHeadend web server.

BYOB / Re: EPG Issue in BYO?
April 09, 2024, 04:26:50 PM
The ten hour late for timer rules timers setting suggest that it max have something to do with the time used by the IceBox. Could it be that the IceBox uses UTC +0 but those local timers being set UTC+ 10? I will see if I can replicate the problem on one of my BYOB.

Are you using Timer Rule or timer rule (guide based)

Update: Just set a timer rule for recording 18:00 to 18:30 and it comes through as starting at 04:00 tomorrow. Looks like UTC offset related problem. This is not for a guide based timer, Guide based timers work correctly.

I have seen instances where all the channels (LCN's) have been found but are not picked up in the matching process. Not sure if it is happening with the current build and quite some time since I first installed it. On all three units the LCNs are reported correctly (not sure if that was initially the case).

Getting Help / Re: Remote Control
April 05, 2024, 01:29:53 PM
It would be helpful if the USB Keyboards also had a trackball or mouse. On a BYOB I have a Logitech USB Keyboard + Mouse. I have also used another Logitech Keyboard with trackpad - in each case the connection to the BYOB was "wireless". Wireless is OK, but non-wireless is definitely not wife-friendly!

BYOB / Re: EPG Issue in BYO?
April 04, 2024, 01:47:56 PM
I am not noticing gaps in EPG data, not that I have been looking for them. Not getting any timer error messages due to absent EPG data. Similarly I have not noticed the one hour error in EPG.

The problems may be location specific, I am in Melbourne and we do not have Prime.

The problem is definitely unrelated to having BYOB - there is no difference beweep the behavior of my IceTV IceBox and my two BYOB IceBox.

It may be time to contact IceTV support ....
The absence of support for BYOB hardware issues does not apply to what is clearly an OS or server problem.

I like to have the LCN shown - just a matter of habit.

@Daniel Hall, sorting by channel name assumes all channels of a network start with the same text, so it may not work. This is not the case. Sorting by mux does group by network group, but not sure how this can be done for the EPG.

@Delta Mike Charlie (DMC), you have experimented with using Topfield RCU with LibreELEC, can you change the channel by entering the LCN?

DMC's observation about the populating of LCNs may hint at an easy solution; he may wish to investigate further, and report back.

One could take the view that those who want LCNs can when necessary edit them using the TVHeadend web server.

If I recall correctly, with the TRF 2100 there was a problem that it did not pick up one of the LCNs in Hobart because it was .625 rather than .5. Had to update the firmware for it. It was a secondary transmitter (if I recall correctly). At one time there was two or three secondary transmitters for Hobart ABC. Mount Wellington the main one, with I think Sorrel, New Norfolk and cannot remember where else. Is it possible that  st .625 is used for secondary transmitters.

That is interesting, the 2 muxes for C31/LNC 44 are very close together - 557.5 and 557.625. The proximity for other secondary transmitters (that I often got in the early days of Topfield PVRs) are not adjacent.

OK, already tried that one.

Some of the channels are "radio" channels, which explains the larger number.

Other than doing a soft reset I cannot think of any possible solution to the channel problem. However, with the exiting build of the TVHeadend add-on this may not help. The current build (inconsistently) finds multiple muxes for the same content. Where I am I am fortunate that I only get one "duplicate" mux for C31 (channel 44); but in my case they are both correctly identified. Looks like the matching process is going feral in your case.

As I said in an earlier post, the technical team (aka Daniel Hall) is working on a fix. The complexities of the task means that there is not ETA.

What you need to do is to use the channel identifier from the backend - you go to
KODI > Settings > PVR & Live TV >Channels and turn "Use Channels from backend" ON

You will need to be in Expert mode (not basic or advanced) for the option to be available - use the cog bottom left.

Would not tinker with TVHeadend except when the IceBox is a backup. And if you are happy with the possible need to do a soft reset.

The IceBox team (aka Daniel Hall) is working on a fix, so I would not resort to tinkering unless channels are "physically" absent or have not been mapped, and a soft reset has not fixed things.

Quote from: raymondjpg on March 28, 2024, 10:01:59 AMYou could try the Force Scan option in the Web UI Configuration|Networks|Force Scan.

Youve lost me there Raymond. How do you get to "Web UI Configuration|Networks|Force Scan"?

The reference is to the TVHeadend webserver, which is localed on the IceBox. To accessit, in your  preferred web browser, enter the following location:
http://{IP address of the IceBox}:9981/
The click on the "Configuration" tab, then on "DVB inputs", then on "Networks". I have never tried this; but that is where you go. Cannot say if it will do what you want.

Quote from: panio-man on March 28, 2024, 09:26:47 AMHi

My icetv is 11.03 but have done several reboots yet no 11.06 install has happened.

I even did a soft reset still no update.

Any thoughts on how to get the update?

Thanks Ron

I cannot find a link for downloading 11.06 - I am chasing it up with the development team.

Are you using an IceTV IceBox or a BYOB? If a BYOB what CPU does it have, and how much RAM?

Also check the video output setting - should be 50 not 60.
