General Discussions / Re: Home & Away Monday night

Can't for the life of me see how this could have happened?
I can't either.

There was an AFL match on from 6:30pm to 10pm last Monday on 7mate.

How Home And Away, which you have set to "prefer HD", managed to record on 7mate, which is an SD channel, is a mystery. You only have 2 timers set for next Monday and they are both on 7HD so that should rule any weird T2 timer issue. Maybe it was caused by the changes made at the ice server end last week.

Humax / Re: SBS Channels
April 27, 2017, 04:49:33 PM
SBS did mess-up some of their channel settings for the first few days after they launched Viceland HD. Maybe your Humaxes still have the incorrect information and thinks a couple of the mpeg-2 channels are mpeg-4 HD and vice versa.

If this is the cause then rescanning all the channels now should fix it. But first try turning the Humax off to standby then switch it off at its rear power switch or the power point for 10 seconds. When you turn the power back on the Humax will turn on for a few seconds then go back to sleep. At that point just turn it on with the remote control as normal.

To rescan all the channels on your Humax HDR-3000T see the steps here:

To rescan all the channels on your older Humax HDR-7500T see the steps here:

The error was correct at the time, but the recording time shows remarkable prescience ;)

The timing seems about right. It looks like you have all of your shows scheduled okay now.

Didn't even record the moto gp at all last night, just some rugby.

Using a Humax 2tune.
The MotoGP was on early Monday morning (and listed to be repeated at midnight, or 11:30pm for the NT). It sounds like you were trying to record the repeat. It wouldn't surprise me if ten dumped the repeat for the rugby in some states.

It is repeated again at 8am Friday (in Sydney at least) which would make sense if ten cancelled the monday night repeat).

SKIPPA / Re: Parental PIN Required
April 25, 2017, 02:05:40 PM
It sounds like you have locked those channels accidentally. On the Humax can you lock and unlock channels from the channel list that appears when you press OK while viewing live TV. But it is much easier to unlock them from the Edit Channels menu.

On the Humax go to "Menu > Settings > Edit Channels" and use the Blue button to unlock the locked channels, then press exit and answer yes to save the changes.

Or if the locked channels are on the Skippa go to "Menu > Settings > Channels" and use the Red button to unblock the blocked channels.

Edit: Inserted missing words that got lost during typing...

SKIPPA / Re: All Timers and Series Gone From Skippa

Quote from: ChrisW on April 22, 2017, 05:07:42 PM
I manually set tonight's timers and resent all the timers via the website. The Skippa menu shows Last Update timestamps after that request but neither the timers or series have returned.

It seems to me that the Skippa is failing to get information from the web server, however web access appears ok.
All the Skippa's schedules are still queued on the website, though your account shows that your Skippa has set them in its schedule list.

I notice that the Skippa (the active device named 'Skippa') is fetching from IceTV at irregular intervals since 1:30pm today (the 22nd).

Try resetting the EPG.

1. Go to 'Menu > Settings > IceTV'.
2. Select 'Reset EPG' and press OK.
3. The Skippa will now reboot and download the channel list and EPG data again.

Hi Gary,

Did you miss blip's post? The one with this link:
http://www.tvtonight.com.au/2017/04/afl-agrees-to-7mate-switch-for-anzac-eve-clash.html

Since May 2016 Network Seven have been regularly switching 7HD between being a HD simulcast of 7 digital and a HD simulcast of 7mate. Especially in different states. 7HD in Sydney, Brisbane and Perth started off as a HD copy of 7mate while in Melbourne and Adelaide it was a HD copy 7 digital. Which channel 7HD is a copy of all depends on what sporting event or series is on at the time in each state.

To avoid missed recordings people living in areas that receive 7HD should have 7HD, 7mate and 7 digital enabled. Or just 7mate and 7 digital.

EDIT Maybe "I" should have read all of the TVTonight article at that link  :-\
Seven's six-year broadcasting agreement with the AFL requires matches to be played in HD,
... Seven has agreed to switch on its HD signal for 7Mate in order to show the game.

It says seven are broadcasting 7mate as HD for this Monday night's AFL match. There was no mention of 7HD switching its source channel.

IceTV EPG Content / Re: SBS Viceland HD

Okay, over to IceTV support then, as prl states, it's probably the wrong service triples for the new Viceland HD in their guide for your area (not matching your Wiz scan tables).
Nice detective work people.

SBS Viceland HD for the NSW Central Coast had a typo in the SID. I've fixed it now.

Dougie, you will probably need to do the disable/enable/fetch routine to get the updated IceTV service ids and guide data for Viceland HD.

It seems to be a known bug. See Daniel's reply to me in Triple recordings of Destination Flavour - Singapore
Ah yes, I remember that one. If it is causing a problem (like stopping other shows from recording) then it seems the only way to prevent it is to set the affected series to only record "1 per day".

SKIPPA / Re: Copy recordings between Skippas
April 18, 2017, 01:47:17 PM
I am 99% certain the answer is no.

But you could test it to be sure. Record a 30 minute show on one of the main SD commercial channels (7, 9 or 10), wait for the Skippa to finish processing the auto skip, move the recording to a USB thumb drive then see if auto skip works when playing the recording off the USB drive.

SKIPPA / Re: Copy recordings between Skippas

Yes. Both Skippas will appear on your network as DLNA/UPnP compatible media servers. So they will be able to see each other and stream each other's recordings.

But auto ad skip won't work. This was one of the improvements that was coming in the future software update that never arrived.

Here is what the device list looks like (if you have multiple media servers on your network).

The file list is very basic,

compared to the USB file list,

Hi Dave, Without knowing your IceTV Member ID I cannot look at your account to see what might have happened.

Can you PM me on this forum, or send an email to support with "Three times the mystery" as the subject.

"Prefer standard def." will record on a HD channel if the same show is not simulcast on an SD channel at the same time (same episode, same start time and same duration).

If you want a series to only record on an SD channel you should use the "Only standard def." setting. Just be aware that if for some reason the show only airs on a HD channel it won't record (where "Prefer standard def." would have).

Sunday's Doctor Who on ABC and ABC HD is listed as 50 minutes duration, but on ABC ME it is listed as 45 minutes duration. So they are seen as 2 different airings of that episode... but both "new" episodes because neither will be finished before the other one starts.

In cases like this I would set the series to "Only high def." so it won't ever record on ABC ME or ABC.

Beyonwiz / Re: Cannot login from T3

I remember someone else a month ago getting login errors and it turned out the network cable had become unplugged from their Beyonwiz.
