Very nice, but it is 'not accepting new registrations at this time'.  So how can we join in?

Topfield / Re: Toppy2400 rebooting in Sydney
June 03, 2016, 08:41:58 PM
I noticed the same problem tonight with my Toppy 2400.  I was able to fix it by disabling the HD options for 9, 10 & SBS.  Since I disabled these duplicate channels (I still have the SD versions for them) the Toppy has stopped reloading every few minutes.  Don't know why it had just started happening as this problem didn't seem to exist last week.

The problem was happening only on ABC recordings, and there were no other programs scheduled to record at the same times.  Especially at 3:20pm during the week when I was having problems recording The Bill.  I have a 2TB hard drive with plenty of room on it, and other recordings worked fine.  The problem was almost exclusively with the ABC.  It has, however, been working fine from last Friday onwards.  No more multiple timer failed emails.  I saw a message on another thread that there had apparently been a problem with the ABC EPG which was causing issues for people in Sydney (which is where I am located), which has now been resolved.

Topfield / Repeated Timer Failures - Anyone Else?
April 05, 2016, 08:44:38 PM
I have a Topfield 2400 running the latest firmware & it is harwired into the internet.

For the past week I am recieving emails to tell me that some of my recording timers have failed.  Repeatedly.  Almost all the failing timers are on Channel 2, for some reason (Downton Abbey on 7 failed last night, as the exception to the rule).  The emails come around ten to the hour & I go and reschedule to recording.  Each an every one of them.  Some emails have 7 or 8 such failures across 3 or 4 days.

This is a fairly new occurrence, it wasn't happening a couple pf weeks ago.  It's just very annoying.  So... Has anyone else been experiencing anything similar?

General Discussions / Re: windows 10

I have just upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10 and IceTV no longer works on my computer.  That's a shame because I liked to watch TV while I was working on the computer.  Is this going to be fixed any time soon?

Late update: Everything (including the ethernet to the TV) is working fine now.  Thanks for the help.

Topfield / Re: Firmware Update

I have never been able to use the address that is in the Toppy to upgrade the software.  If you have a usb drive, download the software onto that & then plug that into your Toppy & download the new software that way.  Bit more of a hassell, but it's the only way to do it.  The Toppy can't cope with the web address for the Australian software upgrade, for some reason.

I used to have this problem with mine when it was on WiFi, with the dongle.  I recently had bith my TV & the Toppy hardwired into my internet, so that they are no longer on WiFi.  I have found that fixed my problems.  No more dropping out & losing connection with the internet. Much better.  Is this possible for you?

Topfield / New Wired Network - ICE Issues
June 18, 2015, 07:51:02 PM
I changed to a wired network for my TV & Topfield.  Problem is that now my Toppy isn't revognising the ICE schedule, and it isn't recognising my ICE device.  ICE 'Customer Service' is not what it used to be either.  Used to be able to phone & get support over the phone.... Now it's leave a message & we'll get back to you.   I've done the factory reset & scanned the channels & named the network etc.  it's just the ICE bit that seems to have fallen over.  If ICE is no longer working, how do I set recordings? Does anyone know if we get a refund on our unused ICE subscriptions? Mine isn't due to expire until March 2020!

OK. Just tried the old IT thing of 'turn it off, turn it on' and guess what? .... It works now! Sigh.

I should add, that aparently the last time the Toppy talked with IceTV was on 22 May (4 days ago).

Topfield / Toppy not Talking to Ice TV
May 26, 2013, 07:37:02 PM
My toppy has stopped talking to IceTV now. It won't even let me select Ice TV in the settings. I have searched the channels again, reset up the network, double checked my internet is working (my main computer can have a tendency to freeze), but I cannot select IceTV in settings, & recording & playback are also greyed out.

Oh... And to top it all off, I seem to have lost all the programes I had recorded (but not yet watched) because pecorded programs is also greyed out.

Help!

'PowerDVD is a program that often comes with a computer or aftermarket DVD/BluRay drive.'

How do I find out if my computer has this? Is there a way to stop it have an effect on my Topfield, if it is there? My DVD drive is notafter market. It'sthe one that came with the machine.

Update: since the forced update two nights ago, the Topfield has successfully recorded every program I had planned. I won't be totally secure that it's working until Sunday night & we see what happens with Dr Who & Biggest Loser. Fingers crossed.

The Topfield is in the Lounge and the computer (and the internet access point) are on the verandah at the back of the house.  I have turned my cable internet into WiFi with an Apple Airport Express, and the Topfield has the dongle.

I don't have anything in the DVD drive on the computer. The topfield is only about 6 months old.  I do have an intermittant problem with the computer 'freezing', requiring me to do a cold reboot, but I checked last night and it was fine.  It hadn't frozen at all.

After the second 'Loading' message last night, I did a whole factory reset on it.  Including checking if there was a firmware upgrade (which there was not).  I have a couple of things set to record this evening, and I tried to record Four Corners on ABC2 late last night which I haven't checked on yet.

BTW... What are TAPs?

Whatever this is, is intermittant and has only started happening in the past two weeks.  Prior to that time, everything recorded fine.

I will have to watch this week's Dr Who via iView before it goes off.  Allonsey!!!
