On the "coming soon" and " most popular" pages I have to manually select my recording device if I select a program to record... which is a bit redundant since I only have one device.

What's worse... I can actually click "Add recording" on the dialog without selecting a device and the dialog disappears!

Could you look at fixing up these usability issues? Thanks!

General Discussions / Re: IceTV Beta tests

Hi there,

I applied to join the beta forum quiet a while ago now, and approval is still pending. Is IceTV still accepting beta testers? If so, can someone please approve my request?

Thanks Parki,

Does this version fix your problem?

IceTV Interactive Beta 3.0.0.29

Yes, EPG now downloads, with no error messages. Thanks for the quick response!

Hi,

I'm having the same problem. Ice.log shows this:

21/02/2012 10:24:39.262: INFO Loading EPG data..
21/02/2012 10:24:39.266: WARNING Exception System.NullReferenceException - Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
21/02/2012 10:24:39.335: DEBUG    at IceTV.Interactive.MediaCenter_Win7.ClearServiceLogos()
   at IceTV.Interactive.MediaCenter_Win7.ImportGuideData(String mxfFile)
   at IceTV.Interactive.MediaCenter_Win7.LoadEpg()
   at IceTV.Interactive.Client.LoadEpg()

There's no ice.log.1.

Feedback on 3.0.0.21 would be appreciated. :) Any issues?

Pretty good so far! I had one small glitch: had a power cut one night which also took out the internet connection. The power came back and I started the HTPC, but the internet was down for a further day or so (thanks Telstra!). When the 'net was back up, Interactive didn't start talking to the server, just had the message "not authorised" (not 100% sure of the wording). Clicking "login" got things starting again, and it's now ok. I'm not sure if this is a bug, or it Interactive is supposed to just give up after a while. Anyway, thought I'd pass this on to you.

Apart from that, great work!

Steve.

I've always found icetv support to be a little odd.

I reckon... let me decide what's more annoying, a few emails or missing recordings!

Hi,

I'd like to see the IceTv send me an email when a recording issue is detected (say when there's a recording conflict). That way, I can fix up the issues beforehand.

Actually, I'd like to see IceTV notify me about any issues that might effect my recordings. For instance, my Interactive client went into some kind of infinite loop a while ago and didn't do anything for days (until I noticed that one core of the CPU was maxed out). If IceTV had told me that there'd been no EPG updates or recording downloads for days I would have know there was a problem.

I know I can check on the website to see the last time the EPG was downloaded, but I'd rather the computers did that kind of thing for me  :) Hey, so I'm lazy  :D

Hi everyone,

I'm no longer able to schedule programs for ABC1 via Interactive. It turns out the reason why is that my ABC1 channel isn't using the "ABC1-IceTV" listing. The trouble is, there isn't one in the list to assign!

Everything else is working fine, so this is a puzzle (to me, anyway). Anyone seen this, or can suggest something?

Thanks, Steve.

Howdy everyone,

is there a way to hide a show in Interactive. For instance, I have absolutely no inclination to every watch Alf or... well, the list goes on  ;D, so I'd like to see the TV guide without these shows.

Is this possible? If not, can I request it as a future enhancement?

Thanks, Steve.

Windows Media Center / Searching the Guide
May 07, 2009, 09:54:18 PM
Howdy all,

is it just me or is searching broken in Windows 7 Media Centre? For instance, I was searching this evening for the show "Catalyst" and got nothing in return. It does, however, show up in the normal Guide display.  I also tried "Mad Men" and some others, no luck.

Thanks,

Steve.

Windows Media Center / Is it me? Guide not downloading
January 03, 2009, 10:52:03 AM
Hi,

VMC has a constant message up saying it trying to download the guide from IceTV, but it never gets passed 0%. This has been hapenning for about 3 days. I have rebooted in the meantime, no change.

Is there a problem with the server, or is it just poor me  >:(?

Hi all,

just a quick suggestion from a new subscriber:

how about the ability to setup keyword searches in IceTv, and get a notification via email/RSS/whatever that there's a match (and maybe a "click here to record this show" link)?

For instance, my wife is just completing a degree in Japanese, so she wants me to record anything related to Japan. It would be great if I could just say "tell me about all new programs coming up that mention the word Japan in title or synopsis" and have the option to record them.

It doesn't sound that difficult  ;D
