Quote from: machunter46 on April 27, 2009, 11:27:33 AMDo we really think the big retailers will be willing to carry 2 flavours of the same device??
The retailers will carry products that sell.

If the non-Freeview boxes sell well, then they'll stock them. It's as simple as that.

Ethernet over power is another great way to get internet to your loungeroom. Definitely worth checking out:

Sorry, I should have been more clear!

By "Windows 7" I meant support for our EPG and Interactive services in the Windows 7 Media Center software (ie. people using a Windows PC as a media center plugged into their TV). Windows 7's Media Center has changed quite a few things, breaking our previous software. More info can be found here: http://www.icetv.com.au/iceforum/index.php?board=29.0

We try to stick to web standards as much as possible for the exact reasons you've outlined.

Quote from: mtb on March 10, 2009, 11:16:59 AMMight I respectfully request that one of those decision makers be asked to come onto the forums to list and justify the priorities of the various outstanding features - I'm sure other forum members would love to enter into that discussion as well.
All IceTV staff read these forums and most reply directly to questions.

Stability and features such as prefer HD/SD and Windows 7 support are huge priorities right now and we realise these are essential if we want to keep our users happy (and if we want to keep our users!).

Please don't see this thread as us losing focus on what's important. As Russell said, it's not always the same person working on the different features, so things can and do happen in parallel.

We don't have the ability on the Interactive site to search by genre (yet ;) ). The only exception is for movies. All movies have "MOVIE:" at the start of the program name, so searching for "movie" will work.

We do have genre data in our EPG though, so genre searching could come at some point in the future.

QuoteMore advanced users may wish to take advantage of quotes and minus symbols, allowing for powerful search terms. A search for Ricky Gervais will actually search for a match of Ricky AND Gervais. Quotes can be used for exact phrase matching. Searching for “Ricky Gervais” (with quotes in the actual search field) will search for the phrase Ricky Gervais. Minus (“-”) can be used to exclude words or phrases. Ricky Gervais -Office would search for all instances of Ricky AND Gervais that don't also contain Office.
Quote taken from here: http://www.icetv.com.au/interactive/about

So we have AND searching and exclusion, but no OR searching. You can use multiple keyword recording/keyword favourites for OR.

Quote from: dgaust on March 02, 2009, 08:46:25 AMI don't know if I'm allowed to link to external software on this forum (I wrote the app, so I know there's nothing bad in it).
Don't see an issue with that at all.

Link away!

Good to hear it's working.

I can't seem to find a link for the Elgato Master Cleanser script. Looks like it was deleted when Elgato made some recent forum changes. Sorry.

any chance of Nokia 5800 touch screen application support?
We're definitely looking at specific support for some of the more popular handsets, but right now a better solution might be to just keep on improving our mobile site. That way we'll support more phones, as the market is quite fragmented at the moment.

Quote from: prl on February 27, 2009, 10:51:00 PMThis has the potential to be a great feature in Ice, but (as you can probably guess) I think it has some way to go.
That's our opinion too. :)

A quick note: We're working on showing a lot more recommendations than 9 (or 10).

We might be able to do this at some point in the future. We'd require assistance from Elgato to do it.

Do you want to export all shows, or just some? As stated, you can automate it so that all recordings get exported with some AppleScript (I think you'd be able to find a script someone else has written, so you wouldn't have to write it yourself).

I assume you're using EyeTV to record?

If so, there's a way you can manually set each recording to automatically convert when it's recording (Please see this page for more info). I believe there's also a way to automatically convert ALL recordings to AppleTV format and send them to iTunes when done, by using Apple Script. If that doesn't sound like much fun, then maybe a quick email to Elgato asking them for the feature might be a good idea.

Would that help?

Hi.

IceTV staff do read these forums, but the best way to get a response is probably via our contact page (which you said you've done... thanks).

EyeTV 3.1 should work well, so I'd recommend contacting our support team to resolve any issues. I'm running it here and haven't noticed any issues.

In the past I've found that Elgato's Master Cleanser script has been a good way to reset EyeTV 3 to it's defaults so it can be set up again. For whatever reason, sometimes some issues get hard to troubleshoot and that's been an easy way to fix things.

Elgato's Master Cleanser script download link is on this page:

Quote from: Trial_Master on February 11, 2009, 01:39:49 PMYou would certainly think that is the case. Is anyone from Ice able to update us on the rollout schedule?
To roll out new features reliably can be a big task.
