IceTV EPG Content / Re: Coming Soon Useless

I keep thinking that a personalised 'coming soon' would be great. So 'Coming Soon' would list shows based on the type of shows you normally record. Maybe one day...
Nice idea Dave. Maybe something that would be easier to implement (I don't know) in a shorter time frame would be a setting somewhere were the USER can choose whether or not we want to see repeats included in the "Coming Soon" or not.

And as a follow up improvement, maybe something where we can choose to include/exclude Coming Soon shows that fall into certain timeframes, eg prime time, night time, day time? At least that would be feasible for all those shows that already have a date/time allocated to them in Coming Soon.

Just an idea or two.

According to the adds, these are "Coming Soon" and would be worthwhile to have listed on IceTV:

"Wanted" Mini Series with and by Rebecca Gibney. Wanted will air on Seven in February 2016

"Molly" Mini Series about Ian "Molly" Meldrum on Seven some time early 2016

Thanks

IceTV EPG Content / Re: No data 9HD And 9Life

What you seeing onscreen sounds like eXtra, the shopping channel, which used to be on 94 where 9Life is now.

Try deleting all network nine channels and rescanning.

Or delete all channels and rescan the lot then resend your recordings:

Thank you for your suggestions Dave. Deleting/rescan on my Win7 Media Centre did not make any difference. So I connected my Samsung digital TV and did a full re-scan on it for free to air channels. And among all the others, it lists these Channel 9 related channels for Darwin:

009 Ch 9
090 9HD
092 9GEM
094 Extra
099 9Go!

And channel 094 shows just the "Extra" shopping info. The life EPG also corresponds to "Extra". No sign of 9Life anywhere.

So I dug a bit deeper and had a look at the following TV Guides:

http://www.yourtv.com.au/guide/darwin/
http://www.freeview.com.au/tv-guide/?regionId=74
https://au.tv.yahoo.com/tv-guide/74/0/0/20/

None of them list 9Life for Darwin, yet all of them show "Extra".

So, maybe the adjustment needs to be made at the IceTV end? Unless you can point me to some secret channel number on which 9Life is broadcasting up here in Darwin?  ;)

Hi,

IceTV shows lovely shows for 9Life Darwin, however all they're actually showing up here at the moment is boring infomercials. Do you have any info when that might change? And can you adjust the EPG?

9HD's content is all fine, ie matches the IceTV program guide.

Ditto.

It was the first time that I noticed such a "spam" e-mail from IceTV. But I certainly also hope that it was the last time.

I fail to see the relevance of the offer? Does this one free issue have special articles on PVRs? Or on EPGs? Or something like that? If so, some explanation of this would have been good in the e-mail.

If it isn't, then it is unwelcome spam from IceTV in my opinion. And I would also turn off any notification e-mails in future.

I've just noticed the same behaviour. Agree, it is darn annoying.

I didn't upgrade my browsers, so is more likely to do with the background programing of the web site.

This year is pretty much dedicated to Windows Media Center :)

Considering that there are more than 10 months to go in this year still, that is great news  ;D Thanks, I look forward to the improvements to a great product.

V29 seems to work perfectly. Thanks Luke and the team.

Luke,

I don't have much time for testing at the moment, but V26 installed fine and downloaded/displays most of the channel logos fine.

I seem to have two channels that show up "twice" each in the MC guide, one without a logo and no EPG data and one with a logo and data, eg:

7 - SCTV Darwin - "No data available"
7 - "7 logo" - data showing ok

90 - GEM - "No data available"
90 - "GEM logo" - data showing ok

and then I have this:

99 - "GO! logo" - data showing ok
99 - "GO! logo" - data showing ok

I haven't yet checked if I need to disable anything or how that affects the IceTV scheduling from the web page.

Cheers

Hi Guys,

A new version is now available on the App Store which addresses this issue. :)

Regards,
Luke

I've downloaded the new app version and tested it.
Works like it is supposed to now. Thank you very much for addressing it so quickly.

But I think I have discovered another bug, related to scheduling conflicts, not related to the iPhone app but possibly due to IceTV Interactive. So I will test a little more and then post in the Win7 MC "recordings not getting scheduled" thread. Nope, that was an optical illusion!

I've forgot to reboot the system since and test the tray start issue, as my system just goes into sleep mode when not in use.

Luke,

I've now rebooted the PC and Interactive sometimes does not start in the sys tray. Here is what I did:

PC/Interactive/MC have been running for over a week, just in sleep mode in between
Interactive | Startup | Start in Sys Tray option is NOT ticked
I tick it and "apply"
Generates two log entries:
- Enabling application auto-start
- Not using a proxy
(I did not make any changes in the proxy section and do not use a proxy. Not sure why it is logging that then?)
Restart PC
Interactive starts properly in sys tray
Checked Interactive | Startup | Start in Sys Tray option, which is still ticked
restart PC just to check
Interactive starts open on the screen, rather than in sys tray
Interactive | Startup | Start in Sys Tray option is NOT ticked. Seems to have unticked ITSELF.
When I tick it and press apply, I get the same two log entries as before.
stopped testing  ???

cheers
Wolfgang

Hi guys,

I just wanted to see if you are happy that the latest version (3.0.0.25) has addressed any recording issues you may have had?

Cheers,
Luke

Hi Luke,

All still working very well for me too. Thank you.
I've forgot to reboot the system since and test the tray start issue, as my system just goes into sleep mode when not in use.

Windows Media Center / Re: Feature requests

Thank you Dave,

I guess I am not totally clear of what it means to have IceTV Interactive integrated with MCE. So some of my suggestions may therefore be superfluous ... but I'll leave that to the experts to work out  :)

I considered that option and wondered how many people would need it. I can make it happen in the next beta, so that local recordings too will pick up the default hard padding setting. If you decide to manually override the padding for that recording later within MCE, that will be OK too - we wouldn't keep changing it after the first time we adjust it.

I'm one that would prefer to keep the soft padding in MCE for local recordings. That way I can use IceTV to do my normal recording and hard padding (which is great now by the way), and use MCE for other default recording. Hence, maybe you can make it a tick box in settings as to which type of behavior a user prefers?

Other Requests:

- per channel padding settings? To deal with some of the wayward channels. Or instead of totally autonomous padding settings for each channel, maybe to make it easier to handle in Interactive, give us 2 lots of manual padding settings ("Manual Padding 1", Manual Padding 2", "No Padding - Use MCE defaults") and allow us to allocate which channels should use padding 1 and which 2. That way I could have one padding setting of 5 minutes of hard padding for the "good" channels using "padding 1" and 15 or more minutes for the bad ones using "padding 2".

- Determine/set default "Keep Until" behaviour for each of my shows, eg keep until space needed, until watched, until a certain date, or until deleted. (not a high priority, but nice to have when I again start to run of HDD space!)

- Priority of a show (I saw this discussed in another thread somewhere on this Forum). I don't need a 1 to 100 priority. 1 to 5 would do me, but I guess it hardly matters from a programming perspective. But the priority would be used in case there are insufficient tuners available to decide which show will not be recorded. Although I have 4 tuners, sometimes I'd like to record "less important" shows if there are spare tuners. I would set these shows to a low priority.

- There was also a suggestion in another thread to utilise the MCE functionality for series recordings. This is NOT something that I see of any use for me. I'm happy as is. So I guess that is a feature non-request  ;D

BTW, how many tuners do we really need these days?

At least 4.  ;)

I agree, at least 4, but 5 would be "nice"  :D
