Title: The 3 grey circles problem
Post by: michaelwho on December 10, 2015, 10:28:03 AM
Every now and then when looking through the guide I notice the 3 grey circles on a show I have series recorded. At first I didn't think much of it thinking it was a 2nd repeat of the same show or something. However on closer look that is not correct. It says repeat episode but recording options are for first run only. I go in and find it IS set for repeat and first run. There is also no option to delete timer. The only way to record this episode is to change it to single recording thus losing my series recording. This particular show was brooklyn nine nine. I noticed the pilot episode so I wacked on a season pass and the above happened on the second episode

Cheers

I can't quite follow your question. Are you saying that a show is being incorrectly flagged as a repeat and your series recording is missing it or are you saying that you have the series set to first runs and repeats but the episode still isn't being recorded.

Yes the latter. Series set for first run & repeat and isn't being recorded because it says that the recording (series) is set for first run only

Michael, I'm confused too. Your first post asked about how to cancel the schedule. But your reply to Simon's questions said you wanted to record all episodes.

Your 2nd screenshot shows the series is set to 'first runs only' and that episode is a repeat. But your first screenshot shows it set to "first runs and repeats".
Please PM me your username so I can check that series in your account.

On the website the reason why it is not recording includes a link to "Record this episode". On the phone you should be able to click on "Record on another device" and set a single recording for that episode for the same device. Or better yet, if you want all episodes of that series just change "First runs only" to "All episodes" (or "first runs and repeats").

Dave in the first post I just mentioned as an aside that I could not delete the timer. The two screenshots are related. The second shot shows icetv telling me why it is not recording that episode I then click on that screen (three grey circles) to go into my previously selected option and it shows it is already set for first run and repeats. In other words the second screen is incorrectly stating what option I have previously already set in the first screen. If this is not the case and it is being helpful and showing which option should be checked then If I "apply" nothing happens same result. My default settings are first run and repeat on all my series recordings. Anyway I will send you a PM.

I think that is what was causing confusion, the timer shows with the grey circles so there is no timer. As such, the fact that you cant delete a non existing timer is correct.

However, looking at your problem, I note that the show has also been identified with a keyword search. I wonder if you have the keyword search also set to no repeats and the two are conflicting with each other ie a series recording that says to include repeats and a favourite that is set to ignore repeats.

OK my apologies everyone. All my series recording are indeed first run only. So if a show is repeated say two years later and I do a series record first run only none of the episodes will record. I always thought it was more to do when a station plays an encore episode of the recently aired episode which happens quite often these days. However I do find it strange that I can't click on that episode and update to first runs and repeat (in the android app anyway).

So I went to "my series" on the website and empire (for example) is set for first run only. then I scrolled through my week on android and came across empire on 12th December, three red circles indicating it is part of a series recording (It is a repeat) and it is showing as first run and repeat

Definitely something strange happening. The 1st screenshot shows then series recording is set to "First runs & repeats" but the 2nd screenshot shows it is set to "First runs only". I suspect maybe the android app is getting confused by the keyword favourite, series favourite and series recording all matching on that show.
