Title: EyeTV Mac Issue
Post by: mcarter on July 31, 2006, 04:22:24 PM
I have just tried PIMP using an EyeTV DTT unit on my Mac. Everything seems to work well but when MacPIMP connects, the Schedules tab on the PIMP web page reports "Channel not in EyeTV" and nothing transfers. I have checked and the channels seem fine at my end. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.

Just an update. After restarting the (currently non-functional) Mac Widget the correct channel mapping appeared in MacPimp. However, I'm now getting the PIMP - MANUAL RECORDING message instead of any program details.

I'm not sure I can fix your MacPIMP problem, but I can make the widget work...

Please download the new widget version.

I'm assuming that the developers monitor this forum so will provide an update. I'm still getting the PIMP â€" MANUAL RECORDING message instead of program details for some recordings in EyeTV schedules.  However,  at other times the program details are available. At this stage I can't see any pattern to the problem. For reference, I'm using EyeTV 2.21.

They sure do. Most of us are on at least a couple of times a week. This is a very direct way to contact the team.

I'm getting that sometimes too. Please continue to post as many details here about issues you're seeing and we'll do all we can to resolve them with each update. It seems to relate to which channel in PIMP is being associated with EyeTV. Ie. using a different channel 10 (DTT channel 13, 14 or 15 instead of 10) might cause the channels to not be matched up, causing the EPG data to not get synced. I'm not the one writing PIMP though, so I'm not sure about this.

Please note that this is a beta, so it will continue to be improved over time.

Really?

2.3 is out. It's a free update and it's great! It includes full screen menus (ie. drive EyeTV from metres away easily). There's some technical reasons why 2.3 might work better with MacPIMP as well.

Grab it here:
Elgato's EyeTV 2.3 update page (http://www.elgato.com/index.php?file=support_updates_eyetv2&PHPSESSID=fb5182cf19dc58967f49d1200526053a)

Thanks for the help testing the PIMP beta!

Thanks for the response. Just tried scheduling a program on each channel I use and all the information came through OK. If it were a mapping issue, I would expect it would be there all the time? Seems to be unpredictable but will experiment some more.

I'm not using EyeTV 2.3 yet as there have been problems reported with stuttering when programs are burned to DVD.
