Title: Whats the difference between eyetv and beyonwiz?

I see an add for eyetv in the mail, is it the same as beyonwiz?

Hi Eckythump,

EyeTV is software, runs on Mac OS X.  It records TV from TV tuner devices (mostly USB, a few Ethernet), onto your hard disk.  It also plays them back like a home theatre PC.  You can theoretically use the Mac for normal computing tasks too.

Beyonwiz is a company that makes dedicated PVR hardware (like Topfield, Humax, Strong, ...).  Very much an appliance rather than a computer.
