Title: Padding and overlap
Post by: richardnau on February 01, 2006, 11:53:50 PM
I understand that Toppies don't like overlapping recordings on the same channel. I believe that if I manually set to record program A on channel X from 2030 to 2145 (allowing a 15 minute 'manual' pad) and program B on channel X from 2130 to 2245, then program B won't be recorded. (Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.)

So what happens if I use the ICE EPG to set recording for program A on chanel X from 2030 to 2129, and program B on channel X from 2130 to 2229, and I have set up ICE for 15 minute padding?

Will ICE add the padding to A?

Will B be recorded? Will ICE figure out that I want A and B and just add padding to B? Will they both get padded?

Richard.

I've now had some time to experiment with this issue.

My ICE-enabled Toppy handles this situation the right way: the padding is only added to the second program of the two. Both are recorded and separate files are generated for playback.
