The Block
« on: July 27, 2014, 11:09:31 PM »
I have a series record set for The Block I can see Mondays, Tues, Wednesday etc EPs are set to record but for some reason tonights(sunday) has not recordered Why? Looking at the history of WMC it just has cancelled next to it but doesn't list why. The cancelled episode is listed as Program Title The Block: Glasshouse:Welcome to the Block, Episode Title Welcome To the block the other episodes for the week are listed as The Block: Glasshouse, "Episode name" seems like the original series name was incorrectly named but why was the updated title not sent from ice then recorded at my end, bit disappointed that I've missed the opening episode.

Hi Mel

This is what we had scheduled all week.

Prog: The Block: Glasshouse
Ep: Welcome to the Block
Start time: 6.30 pm
Duration: 70 mins

Nothing changed with the name, duration or start time in our guide.

The only thing that did change was Nine decided to simulcast the premiere on all three channels: Nine, GEM and Go. We made this change on Saturday.  If you had "prefer HD" selected on your series recording your PVR may have cancelled the original Nine showing and then re-scheduled it on GEM? Except, in this, case the timer re-schedule on GEM had a problem ...

The programme name including the episode name suggests there could be an issue with mixed data.

It's probably worth calling support on 1300 654 803 so that they can look at your account and timers, and isolate any problems.

Seriously?? Why on earth would they do that?
I can (almost) understand broadcasting on GEM so the discerning viewer can watch the excitement in HD, but on GO! too - WTF?

Possible explanation to increase the rating by removing alternative programs.
IceTV: 2xTRF-2400 + 2xTF7100HDPVRt + SKIPPA + T2
No IceTV: a few Toppys
Synology NAS
Check out the oztoppy wiki and Topfield Aus Forum for Toppy help
ozSKIPPA wiki coming soon (I hope)

I considered that, but realistically, if someone is a block watcher - now there's a term of endearment - they will probably know it's on. For the half dozen of us who aren't fans of this format, we'd rather turn the TV off than be coerced into watching it - not sure how many fit in between.
The problem with 9 putting all its eggs in the one basket is that they run a higher risk (IMO) of driving viewers to another network/Foxtel/DVD/downloaded show.
But what would I know - if they weren't geniuses they wouldn't be running the network.
