and it's possible I misunderstand "simulcast", however is there a reason

7mate : 209

is different to

7mate HD : 185

?

Well, a simulcast doesn’t mean it’s the same channel, just that it shows the same content.

I am also not sure what id’s those are as they don’t correspond to any of the IceTV channel id’s

Ahh, I think I see now, that's the number of shows listed in the channel, however the simulcast doesn't start until midday tomorrow so there are some placeholders in place on 7mate HD until the so for now there will be a different show count to 7mate.

By now I expect to see correct guide data for 7mateHD for tomorrow (Thursday).  Instead, what I see in Perth is 7flix programs spilling over into 7mateHD, not the programming of 7mate (SD) that it should be.
You have it correct for Friday.

From precisely 20 noon 7mate HD will make its welcome appearance on our airwaves. Anything broadcast on 7mate will be simultaneously broadcast on the HD in 1080i HD."
... is midday AET.  Please add the pre-midday AWST events:
