Hi

Was just wondering how to tell why a series record is not scheduled to record. I have a series recording set up for My Kitchen Rules but tonights is greyed out and states it is not going to record even though its not marked as a repeat?
The ones later in the week are all set to record corrrectly, I can't seem to see why this one is not

Thanks
Mel

What are the settings for the show under "series recording"?
At one stage it looked to me as if when set up up as a favorite prior to it being seen in the guide, it may have only been a notification when the show appeared in the guide listing.
I think I had to then schedule it myself.
As if it was AHHH theyve notified me, now I can schedule it.
But then again, I just tried to emulate that with Revenge.
Wasn't in my list.
Just set it as a favorite, the green hearts appeared.
The went in and set the series options, and lo 'n behold the red doughnuts appeared.

Even so, I still had a suspicion that at some stage I have seen a series appear from "my favorites", showing green heart, and greyed out doughnouts.  these needed resolving by pulling the favorite out, and scheduling from the guide listing in the website.
Confused?
So am I.

I've checked at this end and the episode seems fine - no repeat flag, distinct ep title, no airdate attached etc.

I can only guess that you may have some clashes tonight because the episode of MKR is a bit longer than usual ... how many programs are you trying to record around 8.30?

Perhaps it's different with a Media PC, but on a Beyonwiz I'd expect to see the yellow warning triangle, not a greyed out series record icon for that kind of problem.

I do have 2 other shows set to record at 8.30.

I usually do see the triangle with that problem

The series was set to record all new episodes.

I suppose it is possible that it was triangled late last week and I noticed and decided to cancel the episode, I don't recall doing so but I've had a lot on so possible.

It would be handy if the message was
The is is part of a series but not due to record due to - User cancel
The is is part of a series but not due to record due to - Repeat
The is is part of a series but not due to record due to - Tuner clash
etc

Thanks
Mel

Totally agreed, and it's been requested before on the forum, but apparently many (most? all) devices don't return enough useful information on failure to do it.
