Elementary - Sunday 30th March 2014
« on: March 30, 2014, 10:52:41 PM »
I set this to record tonight, but on the IceTV program guide on the TV,
it had the show starting at 9:00 instead of 8:30 - so it didn't start recording
until halfway through the show.

All other programming times look correct for Brisbane where I am,
so I don't think this is a sudden daylight savings issue.

Any help with this issue appreciated.

My archive shows the program starting at 8.50; I have not checked the recording. I hope my 15 minute pre-padding was enough.

Update:The 15 minute padding saved the recording for me; had about 4 minutes in hand.

A follow up to this.

It turns out the show had actually recorded. What's causing confusion is that the Humax 7500T display,
lighting and on-screen announcements don't seem to be in sync with what it is doing. The red 'recording' ring
and on-screen pop up announcement didn't appear till the show had been playing for 20 minutes or so.
Combined with the difference between iceTV and the printed TV program - made it appear that things
had gone pear-shaped.

Not for me - missed quite a big chunk of it.  At first I didn't think I missed much, as the titles were just showing, but as I realised that nothing made sense and decided to download it - it was quite a bit

I missed quite a slab of it too. Do we know who screwed this one up - Channel 10 or IceTV trying to outsmart Channel 10?

With 5 minutes pre-padding I only lost a few seconds (my recording started just as Det. Bell was struggling with using his left hand for writing). Because the recording didn't have the classification warning at the start I wasn't sure whether the recording had missed something, so I checked with tenplay.com.au, and after sitting through the ads at the beginning, I saw that the recording hadn't missed anything of significance.

The episode on Sun 6 Apr is currently sitting in the IceGuide for the ACT at its nominal 20:30 start time. Perhaps it needs closer examination nearer the broadcast time.
