ABC (HD) guide unreliable
« on: July 12, 2008, 12:16:01 PM »
Is anyone else finding the ABC (HD) guide unreliable? when using the 'Copy SD shows to HD channels' option.

Several times I have notice the ABC (HD) guide disappears for short periods, and I'm getting annoyed by unexplained failed recordings on this particular channel:
The first episode of Wild China failed to record, since the ABC (HD) guide seem to disappear completely at the time.

The first episode of Captain Cook - Obsession And Discovery failed to record, due to been pre-empted twice according to History section. By Grand Designs Indoors at 12:30 PM on 11th July 2008, and Australian Story at 12:30 PM on 12th July 2008. Which makes no sense at all, since those programs were never meant to be shown on the ABC (HD) at those particular dates and times.

I'm using Windows XP Media Centre 2005, in the Melbourne region.

And the problems continues to get worse:

1:30 PM Saturday 19th July 2008
ABC (HD) - No data until Thursday

10:20 AM Tuesday 22nd July 2008
ABC (HD) - No data after Tuesday

1:30 PM Wednesday 30th July 2008
ABC (HD) - No data

1:30 PM Friday 8th August 2008
ABC (HD) - No data

1:30 PM Saturday 24th August 2008
ABC (HD) - No data

11:15 PM Sunday 31st August 2008
ABC (HD) - No data

Why is the system used for the TV guide for ABC (HD) so unreliable? I'm tired of having to keep checking scheduled shows manually.

Maybe because it's the ABC (SD) guide is unreliable, and because you are copying it to HD, you are receiving that same unreliable feed?

For example, today, there is apparently nothing on at all on ABC1. ABC2 shows up OK, but no programming data for ABC1. But reality says that ABC1 is running programs as usual today. Not according to IceTV!

Hi Dishy,

You should probably check your settings as ABC1 is definitely available, if you are using EyeTV then you should check to ensure that on the Channels window that "IceTV" is still selected under the EPG column and that it has not changed back to being "DVB".

The problem is occurring again, more details:

The problem only effects the ABC HDTV guide in my case, the ABC1 guide is unaffected.

When I go to select a guide for a TV channel, the ABC HDTV channel isn't listed at all.
