1st Thank You.......Just a few newbie questions please
« on: August 28, 2010, 03:29:35 PM »
Thank you for supplying and monitoring these forums.

I just had my first try at PVR recording with a Beyonwiz DP-P2,
All went well except I still had ads, I not sure how they are removed, while recording?
or do I have to delete them after it has recorded?

'padding' and 'timeshift' is IceTV involved in that or is that to do with the Beyonwiz only?

I am unable to locate a basic beginners instructional post in forums, is there one I missed?

Thanks again......dave

Hi, dave. I hope you enjoy IceTV's service and your new DP-P2.

There's no way to remove ads on the Beyonwiz except by manual editing. If you are recording for "watch and delete", the programmable skip keys are what most people use to avoid watching ads (set them up on the Beyonwiz with SETUP>Misc>PVR). If you want to remove ads cleanly and efficiently, that's probably best done by copying the recording to a computer.

Padding and timeshifting are done on the Beyonwiz (also set up with SETUP>Misc>PVR). There's a topic where people have discussed how they prefer to set up skipping on the Beyonwiz forum, and there's also a detailed FAQ about padding there, too..

There are a bunch of quick "how to" instructions on the Beyonwiz Australia Web pages, and on WizTV (they're pretty much the same set of notes). For IceTV help, click on the "Help" link at the top of every page on the IceTV Web site. Your Beyonwiz also should have come with a manual :)

You might also want to browse, or even join, the Beyonwiz Forum.
