EPG problems since digital re-tune
« on: April 09, 2014, 07:03:33 PM »
Since I re-scanned after the digital re-tune I have a bunch of channels that do not show content on the ICE TV EPG, they're just empty. Do I need to do something more than re-scan?

Which channels? Do you use favourites?

Which channels? Do you use favourites?

Seven, Seven 1, ABC1, Spree, TV4Me, Fresh Ideas, Extra, Extra 2.
Don't us favourites.

Which broadcast channels retuned? Seven and ABC?

How, exactly, did you rescan?

Which channels? Do you use favourites?

Seven, Seven 1, ABC1, Spree, TV4Me, Fresh Ideas, Extra, Extra 2.
Don't us favourites.

It sounds like you had previously deleted those channels as they are all either shopping channels or duplicate (simulcast) channels.

Spree, TV4Me, Fresh Ideas, Extra and Extra 2 (and possibly another 2 depending on location) are datacasting or shopping channels. IceTV has never provided a guide for datacasting channels.

Seven, Seven 1 and ABC1 are duplicates.
- Seven is broadcast on channel 7 and simulcast (copied) to channels 70 and 71.
- ABC1  is broadcast on channel 2 and simulcast (copied) to channel 21.

Other duplicates are One on 1 and 12 (in city/suburban regions) and SBS One on 3 and 33. Even though SBS calls channel 33 SBS3 it is a copy of channel 3 (as is SBS HD on channel 30 which is an upscaled copy of channel 3).

Guide data for the duplicate channels can be enabled or disabled in your account. Though the channel numbers (LCNs) must match what is on your PVR.

In your account you have 7 digital set to 7, ABC1 set to 2 and One set to 1. As you don't have a Topfield you could set them each to "All".

For hiding the shopping channels, see "Beyonwiz: How do I Hide Unwanted Channels in the Guide" here:

Perfect. Thanks.

This reminds me though why I made those changes originally, I would prefer to have all the ABC and SBS channels grouped together if possible. Is that doable?

So this worked last night but today it has reverted, the holes are back, hidden channels are back?

You've probably switched back from your Favourites list to the All Services list.
